A Victory Nonetheless

James Getomer (guitar/vocals) and Jon Horowitz (bass/vocals) didn't exactly bump into each other on the streets of San Francisco. They first met in high school in the purgatory of central Connecticut and travelled all around CT and MA checking out punk, ska, and emo shows of all sizes. They then both ended up at the cold, dankness of Maine for college, and started their first band, Jenga's Fall. When Jenga's Fall fell, as it was destined to do, the band Cahalan rose from the ashes, and thus began the three membered brand of rough-cut, melodic punk that was described by former JF frontman, Matt Heff, as, "A thrash band kicking the shit out of an emo band."

Cut to three years and 3000 miles later, when the duo reunited in San Francisco. As fate would have it, another one of their high school concert buddies was living with drummer Ryan Martin, who was instantly interested of playing some songs. The three got together and instantly fell into a rhythm-- granted, it was a fast, stumbling, punk rhythm-- but it was a rhythm all the same. Two months and hours upon hours of basement rehearsals later, and they were ready to take the show to the people. They aren't well known just yet, but they are playing the music they love and grew up with and are having fun doing it-- and that's A Victory Nonetheless.
